Debit cards are a core payment method for consumers and their convenience and ease of use make them an attractive offering – even in the changing payments landscape. But, like all payment methods, there are risk and fraud elements that must be understood. This course reviews processes for handling error, unauthorized claims, and ensuring compliance with Regulation E and the card networks. Faculty will examine compliance and timing requirements for responding to cardholder claims, card brands’ provisions, chargeback processes, and time frames for merchants and card issuers.
