Government agencies and regulators continue to shape expectations across the payments ecosystem but those expectations don’t always align cleanly with day-to-day operations. This course examines recent government actions, guidance, and public messaging related to payments, fraud, and consumer protection, and contrasts them with how financial institutions are managing risk and remediation in practice. Students will explore how evolving perspectives from regulators influence payment processes, customer outcomes, and internal decision-making. The course challenges attendees to think critically about the gap between regulatory intent and operational reality and what that means for payments strategy moving forward.
