Check Yourself: The Evolving Landscape of Check Fraud

Checks have been “on their way out” for years… and yet, here we are. While volumes may be declining, checks are still very much in play and they’ve evolved in ways that bring new risks along with them. This course looks at the modern life of the check, from images and electronic checks to the fraud schemes that continue to target them. Students will explore how check fraud is changing, why it remains a persistent challenge, and the mitigation strategies institutions are using to keep pace. Because checks may be old but check fraud certainly isn’t.
